How to Get Your Money Back From Manila Bankers Life Insurance

The complaints keep on coming because Manila Bankers Life Insurance keeps on scamming.


Its modus operandi goes like this:

  1. Call or text people using private numbers procured from some entity that has access to or collects personal data. Another way is to approach people at the mall (it's best if the person looks young or timid);

  2. Catch victim's attention with promises of freebies and discounts;

  3. Use praise, scare tactics or both to get the victim's guard down before proceeding into your practiced, company-approved spiel, repeatedly emphasizing the investment or protection aspect of the product;

  4. Ask to see victim's credit card or debit card, promise that it will only be used for verification purposes. Do everything possible to get victim to hand over the credit or debit card;

  5. Swipe the card and charge the highest amount possible without letting the victim know;

  6. Return card and pretend nothing was charged or debited;

  7. Get victim to sign insurance policy with authorization for credit or debit made. Do everything in your power to make sure that victim is unaware of what he/she is signing;

  8. If victim realizes that a charge was made, pretend that you had no control over what happened and there's nothing that can be done about it;

  9. Escort victim out the door. Feel your soul get closer to the eternal fires of Hell, but what the heck, you made a sale, so yay to you!



However, you can get your money back after you've been duped by Manila Bankers. Take it from Bhagz who graciously allowed me to repost her experience for the information of others who were also deceived into parting with their hard-earned money.



Here's the timeline of Bhagz' experience:


November 18, 2017 - signed a policy with Manila Bankers. That same night, she realized how scammy/scummy Manila Bankers was and decided to terminate her policy.


November 20, 2017- emailed a cancellation letter to Manila Bankers with the Insurance Commission copied in to the email.


November 28, 2017- submitted a hard copy of the cancellation letter at the Manila Bankers head office in Ayala Ave. The Insurance Commission was also copied in to the cancellation letter.


December 11, 2017- received a letter from the Insurance Commission where Manila Bankers was directed to reverse the charges made. The letter contained 7 other names with the same directive to Manila Bankers to also reverse the charges made on their accounts.


December 18, 2017 - received an email from Manila Bankers informing her of the cancellation of her insurance policy and reimbursement of her money subject to the submission of the following requirements: release waiver, quitclaim, bank chargeback form (all three documents to be provided by Manila Bankers) and the insurance policy/contract.


January 5, 2018 - went to the Manila Bankers office/kiosk in Robinson's Galleria to sign and submit the required documents.


February 18, 2018 - left a comment that she finally received her reimbursement and that it was deposited in her account.


The best scenario is that you totally ignore the Manila Bankers agents when they call you or when they approach you at the malls. But if you already fell prey to their wily tactics, be sure to do what Bhagz did by submitting a cancellation letter within the cooling-off period or within 15/30 days after you signed the policy. Any request for termination within the cooling-off period is automatically granted, no questions asked.


However, it gets trickier if your case no longer falls within the cooling-off period because you'll have to file a formal complaint with the Insurance Commission if Manila Bankers refuses to reimburse your money. I doubt that it will be expensive to pursue a formal complaint, but for sure it will be time consuming.


If you don't have the energy to go through all that, then just cancel any automatic charges made on your credit card or debit card for the yearly renewal of the policy and chalk up your run-in with Manila Bankers to experience. Be sure that you learn something from that experience though by never falling victim to similar schemes in the future and helping others who went through the same thing you did.

Lahat ng insurance may “free look period” na 30 days. Kapag hindi ka satisfied sa insurance na nakuha mo simply cancel:



1. kung may auto-debit o auto-charge ka na pinirmahan, ipa-cancel mo agad sa bangko o sa credit card para wala nang subsequent payments.



2. gumawa agad ng letter para irequest ang cancellation at request for refund. Siguraduhing mai-kwento ng buo, ang dahilan kaya nag-ca-cancel. Kung palagay ninyo na na-i-scam ng ahente, isulat kung sino ang ahente at lahat ng nakausap na ahente, o manager, o kung-sinuman.



3. tumawag agd sa support line ng Manila Bankers Life, para mag-tanong kung paano mag-cancel at ano ang documents na kailangan asikasuhin.

4. Ipadala sa email ang letter of cancellation.

6. Ipadala via registered mail o courier/messenger ang inyong letter. Ang courier/messenger service ay mura lang,via LBC o FASTTrack or Xend, etc.

7. I-follow up ang inyong case, magpunta sa MB Life sa Ayala Ave, o tumawag sa hotline, o mag-email sa support. Kung may ibigay na ticker number o reference number tandaan ito, at banggitin sa sunod na follow up.



Bilisan lang natin ang pagasikaso, kasi makalipas ng 30 days, baka hindi na i-entertain ang inyong complaint. Kapag within 30 days, wala pong maaring gawin ang MB Life kundi icancel ang policy at ibalik ang any payment.



Tandaan po natin na ang MB Life company at MB Life agent ay dalawang separate na entity. Maaring may masabi ang agent na hindi wasto o hindi accurate.



Ang maski anong insurance company ay ayaw na magkaroon ng cancellation, kaya ang mga hindi kanais-nais na practices ng ilang mga ahente ay hindi approved ng life insurance company.



Ang bawat cancellation ay napakaraming paper work na walang katumbas na kita sa insurance company.



Ang mabilis na pag-cancel lang ang magandang paraan para maparusahan ang mga ahenteng hindi maganda ang gawa. Mawawalan sila ng komisyon, mapapagalitan. At kung may sapat na dami ng valid complaints, matatanggal sa kumpanya.



Kung sila ay magpatuloy, ibig sabihin, hindi ipinaglaban ng mga biktima ang kanilang karapatan.



Kaya mag-reklamo po, kung palagay ninyo na-i-scam kayo.

    Thanks for this. I just fell into this trap at Robinson's Galleria today. I don't know, I am usually very careful with my finances but for some reason I willingly agreed to everything they offered me today. This is something I don't need, since I already have other active insurances but I still signed up. Naawa lang ako sa agent kasi sabi niya kelangan na niya lang maka-kota for that day, and all I have to do is listen to them introduce their products. Ahh, I feel so stupid. It's not a very big amount but I feel that I don't want to trust my finances with a company that fools/tricks its clients. Insurance should be based on trust. If you have time, can you give more details about the cancellation procedure? To which email address do we have to send the cancellation? (Is this right? reportscam@insurance.gov.ph) To whom do we address the letter? Any tips/guidelines on what to write on the cancellation letter? Thank you very much and more power!

  2. HI SIR! Patulong naman po regarding sa MB Life insurance na yan. Last August 25, 2017 pa ko nagsign ng insurance sakanila then sabi nung agent saken pag naginsurance after ng mga ilang years magagamit ko sa mga ganto ganyan etc. una palang kase talagang ayaw ko kumuha sakanila kase my isa na ko insurance sa isang coop association then that time na salestalk na ako hanggang sa hnd nla ako pnayagan lumabas ng room hanggat hnd ako nakakapag sign sakanila pinakita ko laman ng cash card ko buti na lang hnd ko dala atm debit card ko then nung sabi ko pagiisipan ko dun nila sinabi saken na kahit magkano na lang daw or kung sadyang ipon ko ung nasa card ko at talagang akin un makakapag decide ako sa sarili ko at talagang iniinsists nila na magpa insurance ako sakanila then mga dec. 2017 gusto ko na ipacancel kase that time nawalan ako ng work sabi saken hnd ko daw po pwede marefund pa kase wala pa cash value. So pano pong gagawin ko ngaun 2018 na po makukuha ko pa po ba ung refund ko? Thank you!

    I'm sorry pero hindi mo na mababawi ang nabayad mo sa insurance policy kasi lagpas na sa cooling off period na 15/30 days after signing the insurance contract, kaya hindi na pwedeng ipacancel ang contract.

    Pero hindi mo naman kelangan ipagpatuloy ang pagbayad sa policy at pwede mo na lng siyang ipalapse para automatic na materminate. Kung naka auto debit yung bayad sa ATM card mo, ipa cancel mo lng Yung charge sa bangko mo. Good luck!

  29. Hi po ms. Jillsabs, ask lng po kelangan po ba idetalye ang reason for cancellation sa letter. And may case po b na d maapprove un kahit pasok pa nman sa cooling off period. Tumawag po k sa headofc nila e pag ngsubmit daw ng cancellation depende anu ang rison tpos kakausapin p daw yung agent. Bale for evaluation muna. May mga cases po ba na di naapprove khit nasa 15 days cooling off period pa. Naisahan tlga ako ng agent ng dinala ako dun. Ung 45mins nging 2hrs na. And closing nga po un. So since pagod n ko that time nung cnama ko sa ofc PArang nawala ako sa sarili . Ang problm ko nga po madaming pinasign pero d k n maalala lhat. Feeling ko nililigaw ka lng nila panay tanung ng kung anuanu para malibang ka without realizing n npapirma n pla ako.

    Kapag yung cancellation ay pinagawa sa loob ng 15 days cooling period, wala nang explanation na kailangan o evaluation na magaganap. Automatic cancellation yan. Wag kang maniwala sa MB Life na subject for approval pa nila yung cancellation request within the 15 day cooling period.

    hi ako 4 years na ko naghuhulog sa mb life. for many people its a scam. but technically it wasnt. kung di mo tlga gets kung ano use ng insurance, i feel sorry for all of you. kung babasahin nyo lng ung contract and policy maggamit nyo un in the future. pero s mga nd tlga gusto mag insurance, again i feel sorry. maybe you cant get your money back. ako never ako nagpauto debit and wala dn akong cc. i pay may insurance in cash.

  35. I was victimized too by same modus, tanong ko lang poafter namin na filled-in ung raffle coupon pinapunta po kmi sa kanilang office then they also ask for our IDs and ATM's. I handed over my ID and my mom's ID. They also ask my mom's atmyagain so I handed it over. We didn't sign any papers aside from the raffle coupon and the log book (name, status and the bank we we're using). I sensed that something fishy going on that time so we just to be safe, we closed my mom's atm so they can't get money from it. Do they can't use my mom's information or they still can to get money or anything from her? Thank you!!

  38. Good day, Ms. Jillsabs! Your blog and all other people who stated their experiences really helped me out when I researched about MBLife. Unfortunately, I only did that after falling victim to their agents' trickeries just this last Wednesday, January 16. Their agents just won't stop talking to you about almost everything they can just so they can keep you entertained or in my opinion, to keep you from feeling anything suspicious; "feeling close" kumbaga.

    I just sent my cancellation letter earlier (I researched for samples on the internet and wrote one accordingly in my situation) using the email I read from one of the comments, "support@mblife.com.ph". May I just ask if this still works? If this is still the email that I need to set as the addressee? And also, their address. Their website displays a different address than the one written here. Here it's the 3rd Floor office and on the website, the 11th one.

    Help po, I might wait for a response that's not gonna come if I made a mistake and the 15 days cooling off period can fly really quick. Thank you so much!

    It depends on your credit card provider. Call your credit card provider first to verify if a credit reversal was indeed made. If yes, it should take between 1-3 months.

  42. hnd pa po narereverse. kase po ung agent na kumausap sakin.. since nag sign up ako sakanila d pdn po pumapasok. di pa po naeendorse ung cancellation letter ko sa cashier na mag eemail dw po sa head office nla.

  48. Sa mga gusto magkaroon ng insurance mahalagang magsearch muna. Nasa internet ang infos at may directive ang Insurance Commission na ang selling ng insurance should be partnered with banks. I believe maganda ang insurance kasi insurance combined with investment ito. Kungbaga tulad ng forced saving. I brought mine when I was 22/yo and my plan is to let it stay with the insurance company until I reach 60, or should an emergency occur that’s the only time I’ll withdraw it.

    Hi ganyan din po nangyari sakin dito sa robinson iloilo ang sabi skin ng lalaki na nasa entance banda may gift daw po aku as a shoppers, kilangan ko lang daw po valid id at debit or credit card minimum balance 15k ,so sabi ko bakit mu tianatanung? Para lang daw po yun sa pag claim if ever manalo aku. Hanggang sa dinala nya aku dun sa office nila kasi sabi nya kukunin daw yung gift ko. Pag katapus noon ang bilis ng mga pangyayari napa oo nila aku sa lahat pati atm ko at id kinuha nila di ko rin lubos maisip bakit pirma aku ng pirma sa lahat ng document na binibigay sakin di ko rin namalayan napa oo nila aku sa 14k na kukunin sa bank acc ko. Lahat po ng nangyari parang under control aku lahat sinusunod ko mapa pin ng atm ko at mga contract ay napirmahan ko. Nung umuwi aku don na bumalik yung katinuan ko at halos nanginginig yung buo kung katawan sa nangyari. Binalikan ko ulit ung office nila sa robinson ang gusto ko ipa cancel that day mismo peru ayaw nilang i cancel. Pag ka umagahan bumalik nanamn aku dun at manager na mismo ang nka usap ko halos nag kagulo na kmi dun peru ang sabi lang ng manager makakancel ko po daw yun peru wala akung mkukuha kahit sentimo .patulong naman po

    Nagresend ako ng cancellation letter using the email sa website nila: customercare@manilabankerslife.com. I think outdated na yung supportmblife.ph because I waited almost one week for them to respond pero wala akong natanggap.

    After resending to the customercare email, I received an email of ticket receipt, saying natanggap nila request ko and after five days, an acknowledgment to review my request. It says they have a standard process and they'll give me a response once management comes to a decision and that email was six days ago, January 30.

    They also provided a website, a ticket portal where you can check the status of your cancellation (needs full name and email) di lang ako makalog-in kasi mali yung email na registered sa kanila so tinawag ko ngayon para baguhin.

    I'm just waiting for an email that it's changed then I'll check the ticket portal. Once I can access it at pag in process pa rin, (15 days daw and processing kasi kakausapin din nila yung agent involved who is given three days) tatawag ako ulit kasi I know I've given them an ample amount of time.

Pero wag kayo papadaig. Kung maaari, wag kayo gumamit ng "po" not to be impolite, but to establish authority, at di nila isiping bata kayo.

CC the insurance commission email then make an email na addressed, not just CC'ed to them. Tinawagan ko kasi IC kung natanggap nila then they checked, when they saw nakaCC lang, sabi sa akin, gawa raw ako ng addressed sa kanila. I was informed I can also call at hanapin si Leila Espineli kasi she handles the concerns for MB Life. This tho, I wasn't able to do kasi I think, ideally, morning ka tatawag (but I'll be at work in morning) para andun pa siya, hapon kasi ako tumawag last time at wala siya.

    Hanggang 15/30 days lang pagkatapos mo pumirma ng insurance contract ang "cooling off period", kung saan pwede mong ipakansela ang insurance policy mo at makuha ang ibinayad mo.

    Kung mag dadalawang taon na ang insurance policy mo, hindi mo na pwedeng makuha ang naibayad mo. Pero pwede mong itigil ang pagbayad ng policy para matigil na rin ang insurance policy mo. Hindi naman kelangan na ipagpatuloy mo ang insurance coverage if ayaw mo na o hirap ka na sa pagbayad.

Nakabantay sila sa may ATM Machine tapos titignan daw nila ung resibo sa pagwithdraw after ko mag withdraw hinihintay talaga ako ng agent para dun sa resibo tapos binigay kasi nga wala 400 na lang naman laman nun tapos sabi nya qualified daw ako sa mga free shopping bag at raffle ng 150,000 ako naman si Tanga kasi nga free go lang and then ayun parang naging close na kami pinapunta na ako sa office sabi makinig lang daw ipapakila lang ung MB life insurance within 18 mins tapos grabe lagpas isang oras ako dun ayaw nila ako paalisin lalo na't alam nila na may pera ka jusko!!! please help. Ano po gagawin ko? Parang nawala ako sa wisyo nun sabi na sige mam try na natin subject for approval pa naman yan credit card nyo kung papayagan kayo eh ako naman kasi nga ayaw nila ako paalisin tapos pilit kong sinasabi na sa March na ko kukuha ayaw nila eh nasa isip ko Shopmore naman ung CC ko baka nga di ma approve. Ayun na approve nakuhaan ako 7600 please help nasa cooling period pa nman ako please po

Last nov 2018 nila inaapprove ung cancellation ko but til now la pa din. More than 60 days na working days pa un. Lagi nila sinasabi na ttwag sila pg ok na. Ano po ba ang tamang gawin para mapabilis.   61. Hello ms. Jillsabs kaka-follow up ko lang po ngayon ng quit claim ko. Nagpunta ako office sa rob galleria nung monday and sabi ng agent sila na magpapasa sa head office. Nung finollow up ko sa agent ng tuesday di pa daw naipasa kasi walang pipirma and next week pa daw malalaman kung ready na ang quit claim,ang problema ko po pabalik na ako sa trabaho abroad nitong march 3. At ang sabi lang sakin ng agent di daw nila alam kelan magiging ready ang quit claim dahil office na daw nila ang mag iinform sa akin. Ask ko lang po if hindi ko man mapirmahan ang quit claim at i-close ko nalang ang account ko kusa run ba mag close ang insurance na napirmahan ko?

Sabi nila pumunta daw po ako sa branch nila sa galleria ieexplain daw po sakin nung nakausap ko ung about sa concern ko. Kelangan ko pa po bang pumunta? Hindi po ako matapang sa ganyang confrontations. Akala ko po ung 30 days period is unquestionable na kapag nagdecide kang ipacancel hindi mo na kelangan mag explain? Tho ginawa ko un sa letter.

  70. Paano po kaya ma reklamo sa kinauukulan itong ginagawa ng manila bankers. Mga manloloko ang mga yan. Ako din nabiktima 2013 pa. Mag nag text sa akin na nanalo ako ng mga freebies at scholarship dati. dahil sayang naman pumunta ako sa office nila. Tapos sasabihan ka nag mag save daw sa Manila bankers. Kinlaro ko talaga na saving lang ang gagawin for five years. Tapos after five years mag pension ka daw for the next five years. Then after ma claim mo ang buong na save mo na money pagkatapos ng Sampung taon. Tapos while saving, makaka avail ka ng mga insurance from them. So savings lang daw. Yun ang akala ko. pero after nagpakahirap akong magbayad ng isang taon kasi kailangan kang bumalik sa kanila para i continue, hindi ako nakabalik kasi na assign ako sa mindanao. So nag email ako sa customer support nila ang sabi kapag di ko daw na continue mauubos daw yung kasi mag pipenalty. Nagtaka ako bakit mag pipenalty e savings naman yun. Mga manloloko! Sana may mag lalakas lood pumunta sa tulfo niyan para maglabasan lahat ng naloko diyan ng manila bankers kasi kawawa yung naghirap para kumita tapos ma hold-up lang nila.

Ayon sa agent na nakausap ko, kelangan ko daw magreport sa Makati Office to sign the waiver forms, tapos MB Life na daw ang mag settle nung 12,200 na na charged sa credit card ko. But the agent said that I need to pay Php500.00 for the policy cancellation fee & Php 500.00 for the administrative fee. At dahil 2 policy (LIFE SAVER POLICY at
    PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE POLICY) ang ibinigay sa akin nung agent nang hindi ko nalalaman, I need to pay 2,000. Next friday pa ang schedule ko sa Makati Office.

    Posibleng may admin fees nga na ipapatong ang MB Life, common naman yon. Pero hindi naman nakasalalay sa pagbayad ng admin and policy cancellation fees yung pag cancel ng policy mo, as long as pasok sa cooling period yung pagrequest ng cancellation, automatic cancellation na yon.

  87. I have just today (April 30, 2019) been convinced by one of Manila Bankers Life agents -- a "Dustin", in the SM Santa Rosa branch -- to avail of an insurance policy, amounting to Php 50,890 annually, to be taken from my Metrobank credit card, of which I'm not the primary.

    Quite honestly I wasn't interested in an insurance policy, I have just a few months ago started working and I'm not nearly old enough to worry about my health or accidents. I was simply browsing in the mall when a man named "Jayson" (no surname provided) told me they were giving away freebies (pens, umbrellas, fans, flash drives) as "thanks" to those who have credit cards or ATM cards. All I apparently had to do was fill up a raffle coupon and I get my freebie. He seemed desperate to fill his "quota" so I decided to go ahead. But "Jayson" started to bring me to the "Manila Bankers Life" office which is quite a walk away and in a different building, where he said I only had to listen to 30-45mins of a presentation and I could get my freebie without a single peso spent. Then another agent, a "Dustin Troy Arambulo" started a sales pitch that lasted for over THREE HOURS. All the while I couldn't leave and was pressured into agreeing to an insurance policy.

    I never wanted one, but the agent was quite vicious and pressured me a lot, whenever I said I wasn't interested or that maybe I'll come back the next day, he would tell me it had to be done "today" because I "never know" if I "could get into an accident later." It was phrased quite threateningly. Simply put, I was pressured into agreeing to an insurance policy, and I was left feeling like I was thoroughly duped.

    Moving on, as I left the mall I belatedly noted that during the agent's "sales pitch", my credit card was for a while taken from my sight for allegedly "confirmatory" processes, a time in which my card may have been swiped and used for unknown purposes/transactions. My credit card should not have left my sight, and if they were truly an honest company they would have made sure to take measures of transparency and showed me every step of what they have done to my credit card, if it really was necessary that they take it. They said it was for verification only and that they would contact me once the bank has approved, and that they have not swiped it at all, but if it was out of my sight, they can't guarantee that they did nothing untoward. They made me sign a form that says I consent to an autodebit or some such, and I inquired why I had to sign it, and they said that it was just for confirmatory purposes even if the form clearly wasn't for that. In retrospect, it sounds almost painfully suspicious.

    I wanted to be ahead of things and urgently cancel the account made, and possibly refund whatever has been taken from the bank savings if ever any was taken, before anything unsavory occurs.

    So I emailed a cancellation letter to the costumer support address that the agent provided and was printed on the envelope provided, which was costumercare@manilabankerslife.com , which apparently does not exist at all. This left me quite terrified, so I searched on the internet and found here that there was another email address for costumer support, which was support@mblife.com.ph. My cancellation request was sent the second time around, but the fact that the email address I was first provided was fraudulent and quite frankly nonexistent, urged me to report this company.

    What is the next step I must take? Should I send pictures of the papers I was given to IC or something? Any details you might need me to submit? I have still not gotten a reply from MB Life (hopefully the real one), and I am in desperate need of assistance. Please help me.

Hi miss jill, nagbayad po ako ng 5,040 pesos as initial premium kahapon May 19, 2019, now po around 10:00 AM of May 20,2019 nag submit na po ako sa email nila ng cancellation letter nag reply po sila "We would like to acknowledge that we have received your request and a ticket has been created.
    A support representative will be reviewing your request and will send you a personal response." so may account po ako dun na pinpaproccess na yung letter ko, ang case ko po wala po silang binigay na policy contract so wala pa po akong pinipirmahan at ayoko nang pirmahan yun, marerefund ko pa po ba yung pera ko?

    Na biktima rin po ako ng MBLife. Sa Rob Galleria naman po ako sa Ortigas. Papunta sana ako ng NBI nun (April 23, 2019,Tuesday) pero pagdating ko sa entrance, sabi ng guards sarado daw ang NBI. May mga agents nang nakaabang sa entrance palang. Tapos kinomfort nila ako since sayang naman daw yung punta ko. Tinanong ako if may cc ako, kelan ko daw last na ginamit, may pa roleta pa sila tapos pwede daw ako manalo up to 150k. Nanalo daw ako ng bag sacpagpapaikot ko ng roleta. Tapos para ma claim, kailangan daw sumama sa office nila. Kailangan daw umattend ng orientation na aabot ng 45mins. Pagdating namin sa office, may kumausap saakin tapos chika chika ng konti hanggang sa unti unti pinapakilala nya na yung mblife. Inofferan ako ng insurance, di ko na maalala kung magkano e pero malaki rin. Tapos binigyan ako ng papel, pinapasulat yung personal info ko. Tapos nakita ko na application form, ibinalik ko right away yung papel kasi nga wala naman akong plan kumuha. Tapos inofferan ako ng mas mababa. In my case, 3360.00/year yung inoffer sakin. Dahil nga naisip ko na kung yearly na bayad na yun, di sya ganung kabigat sa bulsa. Hanggang sa pumayag na akong mag sign. Pinapang front pa nila si Boy Abunda. After ko lumabas ng office, saka lang ako nakapag research about sa MBlife. Mabuti nalang at nakita ko itong blog na ito. The same night, nag send agad ako ng email sa MB na naka CC ang IC. Nagreply ang MB at sinabing na receive daw ang concern ko. Same same. May SOP daw na max of 30days. May 13, may na receive akong email from IC, binigyan si MB ng 10days para aksyunan y7ng request ko. Di lang ako sure kung na send na rin ba sa MB yun, sa email kasi ng IC, ako lang yung pinagsendan, di naka CC ang MB. So, inassume ko naman na nasend na nila kaya di ko nalang sinend. I was expecting last May 23 na may feedback na sila, but still, no reply from MB. Tumawag ako sa trunkline nila kahapon tapos binigyan ako ng ibat ibang contact # pero same tao pa rin yung makakausap ko. Sasabihin nyang itratransfer ako sa customer care pero after ilang minutes, ibaba nila yung phone. Mga thrice yun nangyari. Nag abang ako ng update the whole day still wala pa rin. Ang mali ko lang e di na ako nakapag send ng hard copy ng letter sa IC at MB since nagreply naman pareho. But i am planning na mag send na on Monday including yung proof na nakapag file ako ng cancellation letter within the cooling-off period. Magwo-work pa po ba yung ganun? Thank you po sa response.   108. Hello po! Nabiktima din po ako last Sunday lang (May 26, 2019) sa Robinson's Galleria bago ako umuwi sa province ko. Pagka-uwing pagka-uwi, nireasearch ko po agad at nakita ko ito. Sinundan ko po steps na binigay nyo. Nagsend ako ng email sa MBLife head office at Insurance commission last Monday night. Nagpadala din po ako ng hars copies kahapon lang. Nagreply naman po sa email, pero dini-rect lang ako sa customer service sute nila at binigyan ng ticket/reference number, may nakaassing na din pong staff pero wala pa din pong response regarding sa concern ko. Ask ko lang po kung gaano katagal po sila nagrespong sa inyo, at gaano katagal yung processinh at ano pa po mga need ko gawin? Please help me po :(

    Kulitin mo lang. As in mag send ka nang mag send ng email. Sa case ko, nag reply sila mga 3 days after pa ng 30days na max SOP nila. Kinulit ko talaga. Tapos may tumawag sa akin from mb life naapprove nga daw yung cancellation ng policy ko tapos inimbitahan ako pumunta sa main office nila. Kaya lang, meron palang cancellation fee na 1000. Tapos yung binayad ko since CC ang ginamit kong mode of payment, ibabalik lang nila yung credit sa card ko, hindi nila ibabalik in cash.

    Kakakuha ko lang din saken last June 4,2019 sobrang hindi ko din alam yung nangyari. Kakawithdraw ko lang nun and sabi nga nila is for free naman. Akala ko basta lang magbbgay ng gift na for free then raffle. Hanggang sa dinala nila co sa office nila. Medyo confused talaga ko kaya nagsearch ako about sa company nila and eto yung nakita kong thread. Pano kopo kaya mababawi yung 7680 na nakuha sa atm ko. And gusto ko na din siyang ikancel. Sm Sta.rosa naman po ako.

  123. I had the same experience. Last April 27, somebody offered me this insurance. Di ko plano kumuha pero napapayag nila ako. Immeet ko lang mga kaibigan ko nun sa mall pero yun ang nangyari. Hindi ko alam gagawin ko. Alam ko nascam ako bago pa man mag agree mga kaibigan ko nung time na yun. Tapos bigla ko nalaman ngayon na pwede pala yun icancel. But, it is almost more than a month. Possible pa ba yun maicancel?

    I availed their policy last May 27, then a few hours after signing I felt skeptical kaya ng search ako and I read this thread. I immediately sent my cancellation of policy letter through email and I sent it to these:
    customercare@manilabankerslife.com
    support@mblife.com.ph

    and naka CC din ang Insurance Commission, with the following email ads:
    publicassistance@insurance.gov.ph
    reportscam@insurance.gov.ph

    On May 29 I sent a copy of the exact letter I emailed to the Insurance Commission via courier. I addressed it to Ms. Leila Espineli with the contact number 5238461, since di ko po alam yung mobile number. Also on May 30, I personally went to MB Life's main office in Ayala to submit a physical letter and solidify my cancellation request. If you're not around NCR area, I suggest mag send kayo ng physical copy of the letter you emailed, via courier, to MB Life's main office, please see address below.

    3rd Floor, VGP Center, 6772 Ayala Ave,
    Legazpi Village, Makati City,
    Philippines 1223.

    A few days after ng reply ang MB Life thru email that a ticket has been opened regarding my request, follow niyo lang yung instructions ng registration then take note of this ticket number. After 2 weeks there were no updates from their end so I decided to visit their main branch again to ask for updates and sabi nila nasa top management na daw yung case and up for evaluation, so I just asked for a contact number that I can call or text, however I was never able to call or text but just in case someone needs it, these are the numbers they gave me:
    09175424079 - Look for Victoria Panis or Hydee.

    On June 19, I received an email from Insurance Commission with an attached document that they sent to MB Life's office that states they demand action done on my case. I forwarded the document attached to the ticket I have with MB Life so as to properly document the files I have received and to help resolve my request.

    And just yesterday, I was called by someone from MB Life informing me that my request has been approved and they are inviting me to sign documents and waivers at their main office to formalize the process. I was also informed of the fee I have to pay, totals to 1000PHP which is just admin fees and it was in one of the documents I have signed upon availing the policy so I didn't argue. They agreed to just deduct the fees to the amount they need to refund.

    I'll be going to their office this Tuesday and hopefully it finally solves the issue.

    Sorry for the lengthy comment I just tried to be detailed as possible, but if you have questions, ask away, I'll try to respond as much as I can. I pray everyone gets their refund.

Same din ako June 9 nmn ako sa robinson galleria pero nagfile na ako ng cancellation ako msmo ang nagpnta sa knila sa head office kc mlapit lang sa akin ..at nag email na din ako sa bsp at lahat yun nak cc kay IC ..at sa mb...pero di ako satisfied pinuntahan ko knina lang since malapit sila sa akin at ang ..nka assign sa akn na agent nkausap ko din ...maximum 30 days ang knilang cancellation...pero need po talaga maging active dto...para mabawe natin.

At nkailang text na ang galleria sa akin di ako pumupnta kc tama maam JILLSABS kc kombinsihin ka nila na wag ituloy ang contract. Tinanong ko ang main office nila kong need ko pa pmnta doon sa branch kong san ako nvictim huwag na daw doon nlang ako nagfollow up sa main nila kc sila msmo nagforward sa branch nila ng cancellation at magprocess kaya huwag knang pmnta doon.     Nabiktima ako last May 27 and I immediately filed for a termination. And recently my request for refund has been approved at nakapagsign na din ako ng documents at their main office. May bawas tlaga yan na admin fee etc., sakin 1k lahat ung fees, nasa rules naman un ng pinirmahan. Awaiting na lng ako na ma credit sa bank ko ung refund. Hopefully marefund po ninyo lahat yung sainyo.

Bakit po ganon pinagawa ako ulit ng letter ng customer care ng MB LIFE eh nakagawa na nga ako na ipina receive ko pa mismo don sabi for final daw at kanina tumawag ako sabi pina process pa daw eh antagal na po worried na ako kasi nag bill na yong china bank due date na sa June 30, 2019 ang amount 10,100..next napo yong dalawang credit card BDO at BPI halos dina po ako nakakatulog kakaisip ng problema na ito pls help me kung ano paba dapat kung gawin

    Tawagan mo muna yung credit card mo at sabihin mo na unauthorized/ contested charge yung napasok sa credit card mo para ma-hold muna. Worst case scenario, bayaran mo yung minimum habang hinihintay na maibalik sa credit card yung na-swipe ng MB Life.

  154. hello po good afternoon. hihingi po sana ako ng advice tungkol sa nangyari sa akin sa MB Life Insurance nag process na po akong cancellation ko agad at sabi po kahapon June 28, 2019 ng tumawag ako ulit approved na daw at pumunta daw ako sa main office sa July 04, 2019 para pumirma ng waiver para daw po mai reverse nila yong mga amount na nai swipe nila sa mga credit card ko. Bakit po yong isang credit card china bank ayaw nilang i reverse sabi yong KAISER daw po ang magbabayad dahil ibang company daw po yong health card na isinama nila sa pag member sa akin, sila din naman ang nag swipe non sa credit card ko sa di inaasahang pangyayari dahil sa sabi hihiramin lang at titignan tas nai swipe na pala nila bigla. Pwede po bang ang MB LIFE na din ang mag reverse ng sa KAISER at sila na ang bahalang makipag-usap don sa KAISER sa refund ko po. Kasi ayaw po nila pumayag na sila ang mag reverse nong sa KAISER pinahihirapan nila akong magpabalik balik batangas to manila. Please help me po para pagpunta ko sa July 04, 2019 alam ko na po ang gagawin ko. thank you po ng marami sana matulungan nyo din po ako. GOD BLESS

  157. Last week... June 28 2019 Friday to be exact. Na alok nila ko ng insurance. Then, nag background check ako about MB nakita ko post nyo. Kinabukasan June 29, 2019 Saturday pinacancel ko yung insurance ko sa kanila. Para maka pag switch sa other trusted insurance company. Pumunta ko sa office nila sa SM Dasma.. parang kinoconvince pa nila ko pero. Buo na desisyon ko para i-cancel and refund. So, pumayag naman sila. Pero medyo matagal pa and tntry talaga nila i convince ako. Pero ayaw ko na. Tapos hindi na daw maibabalik ng buo yung money ko. Ang binayad ko sa kanila 25,210. Ang maibabalik na lang daw is 20,000 something... yung 3,360 hindi na daw kasi para daw yun sa tinatawag nila na PAI o Personal Accident Insurance tapos 1000 for Policy Fee. Tapos makukuha ko daw yung pera within 30 to 45 working days. Ang unfair ang agad agad nila nakuha pero ko pero ang balik napakatagal.. Taposang nakalagay sa Free lock nila 15days lang. Tyaka ang nabasa ko dun ang babayaran lang yung 1000 na policy fee. Can you help me guys??

While reviewing the background of MB life, I saw these complaints..then Booom!!! Bigla akong nanlamig kasi They debited around P36k for my annual insurance on my Savings Account.. What would I do?

  169. Miss jill. Letter of cancellation lang din ang pinasa ko s branch na pinah signed up ko nung July 11. July 10 ako nag signed up. Pero pag tawag ko knina s hotline ng mblife. Di p daw nila narereceived un letter ko kaya d maaasikso un waiver para mabgay nila s kin un credit advice.

    Nagpadala ka din ba ng kopya ng letter cancellation sa Insurance Commission?

    Kasi kapag hindi naka-CC ang Insurance Commission, most probably hindi aaksyunan ang letter cancellation mo.

Then nag pasa ako ng cancellation letter sa branch na pinag signed up ko nong July 11, 2019. Tumwag ako ngyon s mb customer service, on process na dw ang cancellation for approval. 15 days dw bago ko mreceived un email para s waiver. Ganun ba tlaga?Thanks

    Nagsigned ako ng contract nitong July 17 lng. Ng request ako na icancel ko at kelangan ko ng time para pag.isipan yung tungkol sa inalok nila kaso ang sabi na approved na daw ng bank ko at nabawasan ang account ko. The nxt day nung July 18 bumalik ako sa office kung saan ako ngsigned ng contract daladala yung Cancellation Letter as a formal way na hindi ko na gusto sa kanila kaso nireject kasi nakapagsigned nako ng contact. Ng email po ako sa kanila para mamula nung July 20 hanggang Ng email nlng ako ng Cancellation Letter naka cc na mismo ung IC nitong July 21 lng po. Nag email rin ako ng copy sa IC at letter na naka addressed mismo sa kanila. Nakareceived ako ticket number or reference number galing MB Life na being processed dw po. Ilang days po kaya hihintayin ko at makareceive ako ng update about sa request ko??? Tinatry ko pa na tawagan sila kaso mobile phone lng po ang meron ako walang landline. Meron po akong number natry idial ng riring kaso pag 12 minutes na naghihintay pa ako ng available na agent ng eended up yung call. D ko alam kung sa end ko my problem o sa line nila. kelangan ko po ba na tumawag pa sa Customer Service nila??? O hihintayin ko nlng yung response nila thru email.

    Kung may ticket number or reference number ka na galing sa MB, ibig sabihin niyan ay pino-process na ang cancellation request mo. Mag follow-up ka na lang nang madalas through MB's customer service number at email para mapalagay ang loob mo na may nangyayari sa request mo.

    Yes, may process talagang dinadaanan ang request for cancellation. Be sure na naka-CC yung Insurance Commission sa cancellation letter mo para gumalaw ang MB. Mag-follow up ka rin ng madalas sa customer service hotline nila para mapalagay ang loob mo na may nangyayari sa request mo.

    Nabiktima ako ng MB nong June 9, 2019 sa robinsons Galleria may isang baklang nagharang sa akin sa entrance nagtanong kong may cc or savings acount ako at ako nmn c tanga sabi ko oo ...may raffle daw sila at qualified daw ako sabi nia sa akin 30 mins. lang introduce sa akn background ng company umabot kmi ng halos 2 hours sabi ko sa knya wag ako kkuha ng insurance consult ko muna sa family ko, pero pilit pa ring kkunin ko at sabi nia sa akin for approval pa daw kong ng bank ko inisp ko nmn na bka di aaprove yun nagswipe ako yun na pala, tapos lahat ng utos ginagawa ko nmn mpapin ng atm ko..Umalis ako pauwi wala akong dlang freebies nong nkauwi na ako doon lang bmalik ang tamang pag iisp ko kakallungko at sakit sa puso isipin mo nakuha sa account ko 28k ..Agad ako nagsearch at pano magkancel. Ito ang ginawa ko.
    1. June 10,2019 nagsubmit ako ng cancellation sa main office mismo pinareceived ko .
    2.Nag email ako sa IC at complaint against sa mb na attachement ng cancellation received by mb.
    3.Nag email ako sa Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas at my mga attachment ng Cancellation at complaint letter na sinend ko kay IC.
    4. Since malapt lang sila sa akin weekly pumpnta aki sa office nila para magfollow up mahirap sa local nila wlang sumasgot at phone # kailangan mo active ka dto para malaman nila na napkaseryuso mo na makuha pera mo.
    5. Pinareceived ko sa mb lahat ng email ko sa IC at BSP yung complaint letter para malaman din nila na nagrreklamo ako wla silang kawala kapg magreklamo ako sa Media.
    6. After ilang days nagsend sakin c IC ng sulat enemail ko sa knila at pinreceived ulit sa MB para may copy lahat ako ..

    Mag 30 days na inapdate ko na sila thru email c mb kc sabi nila nababasa din halos magmura na ako kc habang tumatagal di hamak na stress at di makfocus sa work araw2, kakainis di ba pera mo daling kunin tapos magbalik haba2 pa ng proseso nila unang una di sa knila ...kpag di gsto ng client simply cancel balik ang binayad. Tinwagan ako ng mb na approved na daw ang aking request at tinanong ako pwd magsign ng waiver sabi ko bukas agad ganyan ako ka active at kaseryuso kc weekly andon ako sa office nila nkulitan na ang mga yun sa akin. After ko magsign ng waiver may pinasa sila sa akin na enemail nila c bdo binibgyan ng 7 working days magprocess ng request ko ..at kgabi nagcheck ako naibalik na sa wakas may admin fee na 2k pro okay lang kc 26k nmn naibalik sa akin. Pasensya na sa haba ng post ko sana sa mga bago may mkuha kayo ng idea paano magcancel at maibalik ang pera. Slamat sa lahat din dto at sa mga group chat ko na nagturo sa akin.
    Note: Kapag tatawag ang branch san kayo navictim mas maganda na wag kayo doon babalik kasi pagtulungan ka nila para di ituloy ang cancellation request mo, at lagi tandaan lahat ng insurance merong 15 days free look period kapag sasabihin ng branch na di sila nagcacancel wag mniwla kasi mag sinungaling mga yon, mas maganda sa main magfollow up at deadmahin lang c branch yun lang po and God bless everyone.

  179. Manila Bankers sent me an email telling me that that an approval letter was already forwarded to bdo for refund. I waited for almost 20 days and when I went to bdo, tadaahhhhh. They know nothing about it. Only to find out na nasa kanila pa pala yung document at hindi pa talaga na forward. I am planning to email the Insurance Commission again. I told MB na they have until tomorrow to submit it to BDO. Grabe first week of July pa ko nag sign ng cancellation and until now nakatengga pa rin. SOBRANG BILIS NILA KUMUHA NG PERA SA CLIENTS AND KAPAG NEED NA IBALIK HALOS MAGMAKAAWA KA NA IBALIK NILA SAYO. MY GOODNESS

    Nakapag.signed na po ako ng waiver released quitclaim nila. Iisang document lng po yun 3 copies. Tama po ba? Wala na akong mapirmahan pa ng kung ano anong forms. Yung waiver, release and quitclaim nasa iisang document/paper lng? Anyone kung sino pwdy makapagsend ng copy document/s about dito? Yung sample lng po. Tinatawagan ko customer service nila hindi sumasagot. Nirereject nila tawag ko.

    Hindi kaagad makukuha ang naibayad mo sa MB Life. May proseso pa yan. Ayon sa mga nag-comment, mga ilang buwan din bago naibalik yung pera nila kahit na madalas silang nag-follow up.

    Pwede rin na kausapin mo ang bangko mo at sabihin mo na kino-contest mo ang charge para ma-hold ang charge.

  193. Nadale din ako mg MB Life na to sa SM North sa basement. Halos 15k ang nakuha sakin. Sobrang hirap ng napagdaanan ko bago nila maibalik yung pera ko pero may kaltas na raw na 1k.
    Sabi 45 days maibabalik na sakin. 3 months inabot para maicredit nila sa account ko yung pera ko. Kelangan tinatakot pa silang irereport sa insurance commission para magsikilos!

    Ang ginamit ko'ng pambayad ay yung credit card ko tapos nag sign ako sa auto debit, pwede na po ba akong pumunta sa Bank para i pa cancel yung auto debit sa credit card ko. Possible po ba yun?

  195. Hindi ko lang sigurado. Kasi baka SOP ng bangko is dapat yung merchant (MBLife) ang mag-request ng cancellation of auto debit. Itanong mo na lang sa bangko mo para sigurado.
